This one is from a new AK barrel, a chrome-lined 7.62x39, fit by KKF to the AR15/M16 family.
It's 12 1/2", SP1 out front. I had to sleeve the gas block area from just in front of the rear FSB leg. I was able to turn the gas block journal to the correct .625" there and do my gas port work, but beyond that it was undersize. I had to add the sleeve to an SP1 diameter carried back to the rear FSB leg, and establish the .625" dimension where the gas block journal passes through the front FSB leg. I also added the swell at the back of the standard M16 muzzle threads The AK's muzzle thread was almost 3/4" in length anyway, so I threaded a 3/4" length of 1/2-28, then added a 1/8" spacer, and turned/profiled. It's indistinguishable from SP1 out in front of the HG's. Lottsa work.
Shown here after proofing/test-firing, but before a trip through the finishing area.
This one REALLY needs my M9Evo system! Maybe later.
Thx!

I'm still tracking the source. This customer told me some, but I need to get in touch with the source. As I understand it, there are 16" AK barrel blanks too. Price of these basic barrels will determine final cost. I want one for my 7.62x39 upper that I built back in the mid-90's. It's a true .308, but not chrome-lined. It (barrel) was from a takeoff on a rifle rebarreling I was performing.
